InfoLink Inspection Services™

When additional underwriting information is required, InfoLink Inspection Services™ is the solution. Our Inspection specialists are able to provide underwriting and its re-insurers with the expert analysis and concise report they need to make an informed decision.

Hooper-Holmes Canada Limited is a licensed Consumer Reporting Agency complying with various provincial consumer reporting legislation requirements. The insurance company may request that we obtain personal and financial information in order to complete all underwriting inspection requirements.

As such, our experienced Inspection Specialists are trained and fully knowledgeable in a wide range of areas related to risk assessment.

We are able to complete inspection requirements concurrently with the applicant's medical requirements. This feature minimizes the number of disruptions and potential inconvenience for insurance applicants.

It is important that the broker informs the applicant that they may be contacted in conjunction with their application for the completion of an Inspection Report. Advising and preparing the applicant in advance, in addition to creating the perception of professionalism and thoroughness, can greatly decrease the time frame required to complete the report.

An inspection report consists of confidential background information garnered through an interview with the applicant and possibly, accountants, employers and various professional references provided by the applicant. They may be conducted by telephone or in person – although an in-person interview is generally reserved for larger multi-million dollar policies. The average length of the interview ranges from 15-30 minutes

Unprepared applicants may be reluctant or refuse to answer an inspector's questions over the telephone, thereby, delaying the underwriting process. It is therefore important that the producer advises and prepares the applicant in advance as to the potential need for this service.

All information collected is strictly confidential. Information obtained as a result of the Inspection Interview is sent directly to the insurance company. The reports are reviewed by the underwriter only and are not available to the producer or others.

Hooper-Holmes Canada Limited is able to complete different reports based upon the insurance company’s standing instructions with us:
